This year’s event is due to take place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday 3 November.
First launched in 1995, the Building Awards have announced their 2026 entries are officially open.
Comprised of 19 categories, the awards were created by Building magazine to celebrate excellence in the UK built environment sector.
The categories include:
- Architectural Practice of the Year
- Building Magazine Project of the Year
- Building’s Good employer of the Year
- Construction Client of the Year
- Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year (fewer than 100 staff)
- Construction Consultant/Surveyor of the Year (over 100 staff)
- Contractor of the Year (up to £500m)
- Delivering Social Value Award
- Digital Excellence Award
- Engineering Consultant of the Year
- Environmental Impact Award, in partnership with the Climate Group
- Housebuilder & Housing Developer of the Year
- Housing Project of the Year, in partnership with The Housing Forum
- Major Contractor of the Year (over £500m), sponsored by Fenwick Elliott
- Manufacturer of the Year
- Net Zero Award, in partnership with UKGBC
- Retrofit Project of the Year
- Small Project of the Year (up to £5m)
- Specialist Contractor of the Year
Last year, of which the awards were also held at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London, Kier – a leading provider of construction and infrastructure developments in the UK – took home the awards for Net Zero and Modern Methods of Construction.
Other winners include the Berkley Group, Pick Everard, Stolon Studio Architects, Multiplex, Ministry of Justice and ARC Building Solutions.
