Comic Relief is offering grants of up to £5,000 to small community organisations supporting people affected by homelessness, poverty and violence.
The Comic Relief Community Fund is open to voluntary groups, charities, social enterprises and other not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of less than £250,000.
Returning for its seventh year, the fund will provide grants to groups working with people affected by homelessness, food poverty and the cost of living.
Money is also available for programmes supporting children aged eight and under, as well as work to prevent violence against women and girls and support refugees and asylum seekers.
Grants can be used to cover day-today costs as well as spending directly linked to the work, including staff wages, venue hire, training and energy bills.
Organisations must have been operating for at least two years and be based in the same region where the funding will be used.
Projects based in areas with high levels of deprivation will be given priority, using the Index of Multiple Deprivation.
Organisations whose main focus is mental health will not be eligible, but mental health support can be included where it forms part of wider work.
Groundwork, which is delivering the fund with Comic Relief, said it received more than three times as many applications as there were grants available last year.
It said not every organisation that meets the criteria would receive funding and feedback to unsuccessful applicants would be limited.
Applications for the 2026/27 fund close at 5pm on Wednesday 30 September and successful projects must be completed by 30 September 2027.
