Enfield Council looks set to name the developer which will deliver the first phase of the £6bn Meridian Water regeneration project. The London borough’s cabinet will meet next week (April 24) to chose a developer from a shortlist of four – Galliford Try, L&Q, Peabody and Redrow. The chosen developer will then deliver the first 725 homes on the part of the site known as Meridian One. The new homes will be complemented by new public squares, shops and leisure facilities. Outline planning permission is already in place for the new homes, with construction enabling work having started in January 2017. The original developer Barratt London pulled out of the project in October 2017 after the council refused to sign up to a ‘poor deal for residents’.
