Keepmoat Homes has announced work has now started on a new development at Minster-on-Sea, Isle of Sheppey.
The 13-acre site, located off Belgrave Place, has been earmarked for residential development via the Swale Borough Council’s Local Plan since 2017.
It will comprise of 153 properties, of which 16 properties will be available for shared ownership.
Keepmoat Homes will deliver a mix of homes, with a range of house types and styles to suit a diverse market. Prices for the three-bedroom homes start from £300,000.
Homebuyers at the development will be able to benefit from the new government-backed mortgage guarantee scheme, allowing first-time and current homeowners to obtain a 95% mortgage from lenders.
This means they will only require a 5% deposit to purchase on a new home.
‘We’re delighted to have started work at Belgrave Place. It’s important to us that we build houses to provide a range of options for first time buyers, as well as those looking to up or downsize, and we have already received great interest from potential homebuyers in the area,’ said regional managing director, Michael O’Farrell.
’This is our second site in the area, after a successful development at Nelson Vue, Queensborough, and we’re thrilled to be back and deliver more much-needed new homes. As a company, we’re driven to creating better places for people to live and we’re excited to contribute to a development of this size that will significantly improve the community and neighbourhood. Not only will we be providing quality, energy efficient and adaptable homes, but we will also be working with local partners and create new job opportunities in Minster-on-Sea.’
Work at Belgrave Place is expected to take two years to complete.
