Manningham Housing Association dominates Northern Housing Awards

The Bradford-based housing provider have been shortlisted for four awards.

This year’s Northern Housing Awards are due to take place on 1^st May 2025 at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. The event has been running since 2018 and was established by the Northern Housing Consortium.

Comprised of 25 categories, the celebration aims to recognise the unsung heroes who are working to improve housing conditions in the north – a goal that feels impossible at the moment considering the current climate.

Of this year’s nominations there is one housing group that populates more than one of the categories: Manningham Housing Association (MHA). The organisation has been shortlisted for four different awards including Landlord of the Year, Northern Housing Team of the Year, Best Affordable Housing Development and Tenant of the Year.

‘Being shortlisted for a single Northern Housing Award is an achievement in itself, but being in the final reckoning for four is stunning,’ Lee Bloomfield, Chief Executive of MHA said. ‘We often talk about the “MHA family”. Everyone involved with what we do – tenants, staff, board members, project partners and the wider neighbourhoods in Bradford and Keighley where we operate – should feel a real sense of pride at this outcome.’

‘Whatever happens at the prize-giving ceremony, we will continue to do the absolute best we can for those individuals, families and communities whose needs we are there to serve,’ he continued.

Cym D’Souza, Vice-Chair of MHA added: ‘Manningham Housing Association is an incredibly special organisation.

‘Giving people living in neighbourhoods, where significant under investment has led to lack of opportunities, the chance to live in a decent home and safe environment will always be our top priority. However, it is what we do beyond this that makes us stand out.

‘Despite our limited resources, we are constantly seeking ways and means to do more and do it better. It is satisfying to know that this positive and ambitious approach has been recognised by the Northern Housing Awards Judges.’
