Case study: The realities of moving into a new build

After living in North Oxfordshire for 30 years, Chris and his wife Trudy have recently packed up and moved to the Woodstock area. Here, they discuss their experience.

Delayed move in dates, hidden costs and higher property taxes. These are all reasons why people deter from moving into a new build, however Chris and Trudy’s experience was the complete opposite.

The married couple had, on a number of occasions, expressed interest in moving to the Woodstock area of Oxfordshire and when they discovered Park View – a development by Blenheim Estate Homes – it was a chance to turn their plans to fruition.

After moving into their first ever new build, Chris and Trudy claimed they were particularly impressed by the development’s design guide, sense of community and most importantly to them, the sustainability of the buildings.

Each property in the development has been designed and built to reflect the style in Woodstock, so that it always feels a part of the existing fabric. Using a simple palette of materials and features such as natural Cotswold Stone walls, lime render and timber windows, Park View homes have been built to stand the test of time.

Chris said: ‘Within a day of us moving in, the site manager had already introduced himself, and he and his team have been exceptional ever since – the workmanship reflects the pride that the build team have for what they are doing.

‘We love being a part of Park View’s development and all that Woodstock has to offer, including Blenheim Palace, which is just a short journey down the road.’

The homes at Park View are just a short walk from the centre of the town which is comprised of various shops, cafes and pubs.

Properties currently still available in the development include The Collett, a two-bedroom semi-detached home with parking; The Hawksmoor, a double-fronted, three-bedroom semi-detached home with a single garage; The Herbert, a five-bedroom detached home with a double garage and an inviting layout, perfect for entertaining.
