Bentley Motors is offering grants of up to £4,000 to small charities working with vulnerable and underrepresented communities across the UK.
The carmaker has teamed up with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) on the new scheme, which will provide grants of between £2,000 and £4,000.
Charities based near Bentley shops across the UK, Jersey and the Isle of Man can apply. Organisations near the car manufacturers headquarters in Crewe are also eligible.
The money can be used for day-to-day running costs as well as specific projects. Applications will focus on four areas including access, empowerment, quality of life and a better future.
Projects should aim to improve access to education, services and jobs, build skills and confidence, support health and wellbeing, or improve local spaces and the environment.
The new fund builds on Bentley’s Advancing Life Chances Small Grants Programme, which has awarded more than 600 grants through 10 rounds of funding.
Sally Hepton, Director of Government Relations and Sustainable Luxury at Bentley Motors, said: ‘Our new Bentley Advancing Life Chances National Fund comes as a result of us listening and adapting to the needs of charities and reaffirms our long-term commitment to creating meaningful social impact where it is needed most.
‘By supporting community based organisations that are on the forefront of social change, we aim to empower individuals, strengthen local resilience, and help build a fairer future.’
The initiative comes as smaller charities face rising costs and pressure on funding. Government data shows small charities make up about 96% of all voluntary organisations in the UK, yet almost half fear closure within a year.
