A regeneration project centred in London’s Brent Cross, launched by developer Argent Related, will see 6,700 new homes built and workspace for over 25,000 people.
The £7bn urban regeneration project, Brent Cross Town, will have a new high street, as well as 50 acres of parks and playing fields.
Working together with Barnet Council to revitalise what was once Brent Cross South, the first phase of the development will be opening this spring.
This will include new shops, restaurants and Claremont Park, while a new railway station, which connects to London within 12 minutes, will be completed by December 2022.
1,000 new homes for sale and rent will also be available for sale and rent, as well as affordable homes, new sport and play facilities and a new primary school.
Architects behind the redevelopment of King’s Cross have worked on plans for the project, which will be a ‘15-minute town’ with facilities and amenities within walking distance.
Developers have also committed to making the town net-zero by 2030 by building energy efficient homes and offices and delivering low-carbon heating through a district heat network, reducing the need for individual boilers.
Tom Goodall, Partner and Head of Residential for Argent Related said: ‘Brent Cross Town will offer something unique to London; a new neighbourhood set around 50 acres of parks and playing fields but within 12 minutes of Zone 1 London. It will be a place which supports health and wellbeing and maximises the opportunities offered by our new flexible lifestyles. As well as being focussed on providing great new homes, we are focussed on creating the best place to live in the capital.’
Government funding has recently bolstered the project, through a £148m Homes England loan designated to housing-led developments.
Prices for homes in the two apartment buildings, the Ashbee and the Delamarre, will start at £390,000 for a studio, reaching £715,000 for a three-bed apartment.
Every resident will also be part of The Claremont Park Club, a health and leisure club and workspace facility, with a gym, private dining rooms, bar and cinema room.
