The Strategic Waste Management Team have an opening for a Waste Strategy Officer. If you enjoy working with the public, are passionate about the environment and are an effective team player this could be the ideal role for you.
We are looking for an experienced individual with a strategic mindset to help support the future service delivery of the Council’s waste management service and assist in communicating key messages relating to the service to relevant stakeholders. The candidate will need to be highly motivated, with a passion for making a difference in the delivery of the long-term strategic aims and objectives of the service.
The successful candidate will support the work of the Waste Strategy Team and play a key role in delivering sustainable waste management and transforming the waste agenda (as specified by Government) in order to move towards greater resource circularity.
You should be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the principle issues relating to waste management and hold a minimum qualification of a HND in a relevant subject.
Essential skills and abilities include:
• excellent verbal and written communication skills
• good problem solving skills
• the ability to work on your own and manage your own work load

• Required Qualifications: HND or equivalent in a related discipline.
