Would you like the challenge of working in the county with one of the biggest highway networks in the UK? Does having a work/life balance appeal to you? Does the prospect of moving to a new area for a new employer who has a vested interest in its employee’s wellbeing and get support to relocate appeal to you?

If so, read on……

NYCC have an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with excellent technical and communication skills as a Team Leader – Highway Asset Management. The core focus of the position is to own the whole HMEP agenda and ensure the successful delivery against and, continuous improvement in, the Council’s Highway Asset Management Strategy. In so doing, you must be able to communicate clearly the Highway Asset Management Strategy to internal teams, external partners and stakeholders and to the customers and residents of North Yorkshire. This involves fostering effective and constructive working relationships with internal teams to deliver transformational change in identification and delivery of the Highways Capital Works Programme. As the key advocate for the Council’s Highway Asset Management Strategy, you will articulate a clear policy narrative and where necessary, give direction, across a range of internal and external partners and stakeholders and set a positive and collaborative ‘can do’ culture.

What are the benefits of working for NYCC?

In return for your hard work and dedication to our service, we can offer you the chance to be part of a strong and supportive team all of whom work hard towards developing our Highways department. You will also have access to a variety of competitive employee benefits such as generous leave entitlement, local government pension scheme and access to a range of salary sacrifice schemes.

Whilst the posts are county wide, we are supported with modern technology and accessibility to enable flexibility and agility with working from other work bases or from home and patterns of work, centred around the needs of our customers and the achievement of visible leadership- enabling the post holder to achieve excellent work life balance.
