At Exeter City Council we pride ourselves on being more than your average city council.  We share with key partners an ambitious vision for the future of the city:  “By the time they are an adult, a child born in Exeter today will live in a city that is inclusive, healthy and sustainable – a city where the opportunities and benefits of prosperity are shared and all citizens are able to participate fully in the city’s economic, social, cultural and civic life.” (Exeter City Vision 2040).

In order to deliver this Vision, the City Council is proactively developing plans for the its Liveable Exeter programme; a transformational programme to deliver up to 12,000 new homes for the city in sustainable and inclusive urban communities.

We are seeking to recruit a knowledgeable and enthusiastic new Service Lead for the City Development Service which comprises planning, building control and land charges functions We want an experienced and dynamic manager keen to drive forward our ambitious vision and to motivate and deliver successful projects through the service area.

The successful applicant for the Service Lead position will be a high performing, capable and confident professional who is able to lead and manage the service and its diverse functions.
