Full time, Temporary contract up to 18 months

The Council is implementing a new Housing Management System and moving to the Cloud this summer. This includes implementing a Data Strategy aimed at improving the quality and accuracy of the data we hold in the system. The Senior Data Analyst role will include a complete appraisal of all data used in IHMS from property data and asset management to people and tenancy data. You should be educated to degree standard or an equivalent professional qualification, together with experience of working with large volumes and different categories of housing data, conducting detailed analyses of the data and implementing solutions, which will transform the quality of our data. Good communication and analytical skills are an essential part of this role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Be able to understand large and complex data sets and manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate discussions across the different business areas on complex data issues under tight timescales.
  • Support senior management in their understanding and utilisation of data and spearhead data being in the forefront of decision making across the business, particularly in relation to Housing.
  • The post holder must be able to interpret the findings from the business and the project teams they are working with and apply complex data analysis techniques to improve the quality, accuracy and comprehensive nature of our data.
  • Must have excellent communication skills across a variety of mediums, including written, verbal and speciality visualisation software to convey findings in an accessible and unambiguous way to help senior managers and project colleagues to make informed decisions.
  • Able to understand and apply tools and techniques which can be used to analyse data and using software tools, such as Power Bi, SQL, to create, populate and manipulate data.
