North Yorkshire Building Control Partnership (NYBCP) was the first Local Authority Building Control Partnership in the UK. We provide a flexible and modern building control service on behalf of North Yorkshire Council. 

We process Building Regulation applications under the provisions of Section 91 and 92 of the Building Act 1984. In addition to Building Regulations, we undertake work in relation to dangerous structures and demolition notifications across the Partnership area. We have a wealth of experience and knowledge across all types of projects and construction techniques and encourage innovative solutions.

We are seeking Senior Building Control Surveyors registered or ready to work towards registration at Class 2 with the Building Safety Regulator to effectively deliver the Building Control function throughout North Yorkshire and contribute towards the objectives of the council.  Working alongside a professional team, you will be competent in all Building Control and administrative matters, ensuring that appropriate buildings meet the regulatory standards in safety, sustainability, accessibility and design. 

You will initiate and assist with enforcement action to ensure delivery of the council’s obligations under the Building Act and associated legislation, whilst working within a highly competitive market.  The post holder will ensure a strong and efficient performance culture with a focus on service excellence and customer satisfaction.

The Building Control Service requires Senior Building Control Surveyors to help ensure that appropriate buildings meet the regulatory standards in safety, sustainability, accessibility and design. You will need to be a team player, able to prioritize a busy workload and demonstrate a proactive approach to plan assessment and site inspection work, checking compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
