You will be an experienced Transport Planner looking to develop your career in transport planning, network, logistics and supply chain. A forward-thinking individual, you will be working on strategic studies, scheme business cases, road projects, rail projects, smart technology, policy and interesting research pieces.
We are fortunate to have a wide variety of work and we will require people with different interests and experience. You will have the opportunity to lead on specific strands of work that feed into and come out of the Strategy; either working with the team at Midlands Connect or commissioning and working with consultancy partners. Who we are
Transport planning is undergoing something of a revolution. New and interesting challenges are being placed at our door to solve, making this an exciting time to be in the industry. At Midlands Connect we are embracing those challenges and pride ourselves for thinking differently. As the Sub-National Transport Body (STB) for the Midlands, we are developing the next regional plan which aims to boost economic growth whilst at the same time reducing transport’s part in the climate emergency. How do you marry those two potentially conflicting objectives? This is an important question for our industry and one that Midlands Connect wants to be at the forefront of solving.
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for enthusiastic and creative-thinking transport planners and economists to join our team and be part of the thinking that will take the Midlands into the next decade. With only seven STBs across the whole of England, this is a rare opportunity within transport planning to have a leading role in the development of the next regional transport strategy.
