The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is a vibrant place to live and work. Within the Council, we put residents and businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership to provide quality services that are responsive, efficient and effective.

Our Neighbourhood Management team plays a crucial role in advocating for tenants and leaseholders living in council-owned and managed properties. We are committed to ensuring everyone can access the support they need when they need it.

The Role:

As Neighbourhood Services Assistant, you will help us deliver an effective Neighbourhood Management service by helping our Neighbourhood Services Coordinators to provide the best possible service for our residents. You’ll work closely with key teams and services like capital works, caretaking, income, repairs, social services, mental health and the fraud team and make sure we meet our policy, performance and customer satisfaction standards.

Day-to-day, you'll collaborate with Housing Assistants and Neighbourhood Service Coordinators to deal with tenancy matter queries; investigate and help manage low-grade cases of anti-social behaviour; manage, move and monitor emails and tasks into Neighbourhood Management CRM queues; visit residents to ensure they are meeting tenancy conditions; complete Fraud Team referrals; stand in for Neighbourhood Service Coordinators if needed; support Neighbourhood Service Coordinators in completing paperwork for Court; carry out forced entries so that we meet our health and safety obligations; and make sure the Neighbourhood Team complies with Fire Risk Assessment actions.

This is a close-knit team, where everyone works well together. We share best practices, solve problems together and hold weekly catch-up meetings.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You will have GCSE passes or equivalent in English and maths, and we prefer if you have a good knowledge of housing legislation and other landlord-related obligations. We’d also like you to have experience in delivering services to residents of social housing landlords. As you’ll be dealing with the public, you’ll need excellent customer service skills and an approachable personality. That said, you’ll need to be willing to stand up to difficult scenarios if necessary and be prepared to negotiate with residents to overcome any problems they may have.
