Herefordshire Council’s Home Improvement Agency is looking for a full time Home Improvement Agency (HIA) Officer to join our team to help support the administration of the Disabilities Facilities Grant (DFG) and other adaptations supports to enable vulnerable people in Herefordshire County live independently in their own homes.
Home improvement Agency is based in Elgar House, Holmer Road, Hereford. The team works closely with other departments such Occupational Therapists, Telecare and others within the Adults and Communities Directorates.
We are looking for a candidate who has experience of working with vulnerable people and handling confidential information. The candidate should be able to manage caseload of people with diverse needs and work on their own initiative. Knowledge of housing and welfare benefits legislation is beneficial as this role requires liaising effectively with the organisations on clients’ behalf. So it is expected that the applicants to have experience of work
We are looking for a candidate who is able to travel throughout the county as this post requires of visiting people in their homes to undertake their financial assessments. Good computer knowledge is essential as the Home Improvement Agency is using various computer software to undertake it functions. We are looking for a candidate who is willing to undergo further training in some of the computer software such as Ferret, CIVICA, etc.
