Lincolnshire County Council is looking to recruit a Highway Maintenance Engineer to join our highways team in the delivery of Highways Asset Management, contributing to operational, technical, performance and political matters to ensure the efficient use of the Lincolnshire Highways Network.

About the Role

This opportunity can be based from any one of our depots across the county, to suit the successful applicant's needs, however there will be a requirement for travel to other areas as the role requires.

This position is critical in delivering the Highways Asset Management services in accordance with the Highways Act 1980 and the County Council's Policies and procedures. This role will include working across the County working closely with other Asset Management teams and our Local Highways Teams and providing leadership to more junior members of staff. The role is varied and challenging, and you will have the opportunity to broaden your skills through training and development to support your progression in the highways sector, with opportunities for progression into more senior roles within the wider Highways Service. 

Your workload will include general highway duties including patching, resurfacing, recycling treatments & surface treatments.

About the Team

Highways Asset Management cover the whole County and this role will generally involve day to day management of highways matters within the four local highways areas. There is the potential to move between asset management teams and work on countywide projects as service need dictates.  Our small friendly team is constantly working to improve the way we deliver the current service and build on our routine programme of works to reduce the amount of reactive work required to maintain the Highway Network. 

About You

It is essential that you hold an HNC or Eng Tech and/or IEng in an appropriate discipline, OR have a demonstrable level of knowledge and skill suitable for the role.
