Our borough is beginning a huge transformation. With ambitious regeneration plans, a need for new infrastructure, and plenty of investment on the way, things are changing. And we need leaders to take us on the journey.
Right now, we’re in the midst of ambitious regeneration plans that will transform our borough for generations to come. This role will be central to leading these programmes, turning great ideas into delivery on the ground, and working to ensure that our residents, businesses and communities all have a stake in what we do, and all share in the positive outcomes we are working towards.
Leading on the Council’s regeneration and economic development agendas, you will work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver physical, economic and social projects aimed at bringing forward significant investment that will facilitate growth, address historic infrastructure deficits and secure real benefit for local people.
The regeneration of Ilford Town Centre will be a flagship regeneration programme as we commit to unlocking its growth potential and reinvigorating its status as a gem of east London, with a new Cultural Quarter at its heart, and a focus on delivering high quality modern housing and supporting infrastructure.
We’re looking for a highly capable place leader, who has a firm grasp on the principles of successful programme management and effective governance. But we are also looking for someone who understands the corporate perspective of delivering generational change, and who appreciates how their work can support wider strategic objectives around Public Health, Training and Skills, the borough’s Leisure and Cultural offer, amongst others.
You should have significant experience in the development and delivery of successful regeneration projects and a track record in in attracting and securing inward investment. It’s important that you can work well in partnership across the public and private sector, while proactively engaging communities in shaping the future of their localities. Strong commercial, financial management, procurement and contract management skills will all be essential attributes.
