Following the reorganisation of the housing management property services team we are entering a period of change for us and the social housing sector.
At RBKC our residents are at the heart of all we do. This role would entail leading most aspects of property safety (we have a specialist fire safety team in place) ensuring that RBKC is fully compliant using a holistic and robust approach.
Supporting the procurement of modern planned maintenance contracts to the development and implementation of effective procedures for the provision of technical advice in relation to building services.

Liaise with key council officers, Councillors, staff, residents, and external agencies on behalf of the service area
Feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with strong organisational skills being essential for getting a positive outcome.
Assisting in the Management of the gas contracts (Domestic and Communal) and actively assist with 3rd party suppliers and budgets. Contribute to the delivery of an effective professional technical service within Property Services.
Provide professional technical support and advice (directly and indirectly) on the condition of its installations and advise on the development of future maintenance programmes to ensure that RBKC complies with all its statutory duties.
As a Gas Inspector you will carry out inspections of gas contract works and repairs and ensure quality control. The post will see you work with domestic and communal systems across residencies.
You will ensure that all activities undertaken are carried out to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism and to the needs of our tenants.
An experienced property professional you will have the knowledge, drive and skills to make sure that our residents are safe in their homes.
You will possess extensive relevant technical knowledge and experience preferably gained within a housing environment with knowledge of contracts and asset management.
Proven stakeholder management and engagement skills would play a key factor with evidence of successfully assisting in the management of complex contracts, mitigating risks in service design and delivery within budget and to a high standard.
Ensure that RBKC meets its statutory obligations in all areas of work covered within the scope of the role.
Drive delivery and manage performance of contractors through holding and servicing monthly performance reviews by producing minutes, highlighting actions and actively monitoring service improvement plans.
Keep abreast of all technical and regulatory changes and ensure that this is mirrored through the working practices of RBKC in terms of delivery and specifications.
We work in partnership with Hampshire County Council (HCC) who deliver many transactional services on our behalf. Although most communications will be from HCC, all selection and appointment decisions will be made by RBKC. Certain services are shared across more than one Council area to nearby neighbouring Authorities. This enhances delivery and reduces costs.
