We are currently seeking a Financial Services Manager who can head up and lead our stable, high performing Finance Team and assist with delivering our exciting and ambitious programme of projects. You will be a strong leader and team player, able to work effectively with the Senior Leadership Team, elected Members, partners and employees across the Council.

The role

As Financial Services Manager you will provide strategic financial and technical advice and support to the Council and ensure the delivery of its annual Statement of Accounts to a high quality and in accordance with the statutory requirements and deadlines. You will ensure integrity of the Council’s core accounting systems and records which support the production and reporting of accurate and timely financial accounting information.

You will provide managerial leadership and oversight to the core accounting systems, capital financing and treasury functions and strategic procurement, to support the effective stewardship of the Council’s financial resources. In order to provide an effective and efficient service you will need to keep abreast of the core government regulations applicable to local government finance and ensure that elected Members and senior officers are fully briefed on the implications of existing legislation and any proposed changes. You will also line manage the Council’s anti-fraud and strategic procurement functions.

The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
