Leading new ways of working
Bury places the highest priority on the quality of our environment, including making our contribution to the Greater Manchester target of being carbon neutral by 2038 and working with local people to maintain our neighbourhoods as great places to live.
To back this priority we have created a new Executive Director who will provide the leadership, energy and drive to modernise the way we deliver a wide range of community and place services including waste and recycling, leisure, parks and green spaces, together with our highways and transport infrastructure across the whole authority.
This exciting role will be part of a joint management team with Bury CCG and will also support Bury’s role as part of Greater Manchester with all the opportunities that brings. The role will therefore enable operational services to impact on the health and well-being of Bury people and the economic growth of the Borough.
Your professional background should focus on developing strategy for effective service delivery and delivering the required organisational change, alongside robust financial and performance management. The ability to develop effective relationships internally and with our communities and partners will also be paramount.
This is an excellent opportunity to be a key part of a newly created top team under the leadership and guidance of our new Chief Executive.
