Richmond and Wandsworth Council has changed the way it monitors cleaning standards on housing estates. This coincided with the start of a new cleaning contract in April 2020. Although existing estate services officers will still be completing regular checks in addition to other duties, you would be part of a small team solely responsible for inspecting communal areas and residential buildings on our estates ensuring that Housemark cleaning standards are reached and maintained.
The role is Monday to Friday with start times flexible between 7am and 9am, however the period of work is 7.2 hours daily. There may be future opportunities to expand into the shift work estate services officer role and providing occasional cover as described in the attached job profile, however this particular role is one of inspection and monitoring.
A working knowledge of the Wandsworth Borough, ‘Housemark’ cleaning standards and the work of cleaners and companies would be desirable.
We recognise the importance of a good balance between work and home life. We offer a generous holiday allowance of 39 paid days (pro rata) including bank holidays and a wide range of learning and development opportunities.
In addition, we offer a comprehensive range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts with many leisure activities, restaurants, shops and other establishments.
