Dudley is undergoing transformation with major capital projects and bold regeneration plans. We seek a strategic Director for Development and Regulation to lead and modernise our built environment and regulatory services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing development, acquisitions, disposals, and capital projects
• Ensuring building safety compliance and construction oversight
• Managing technical and professional services, including surveyors and architects
• Handling property and facilities management across HRA and corporate estates
• Leading regulatory services such as development management (LPA), trading standards, environmental health, food safety, licensing, private sector housing, building control, and more
• Administering disabled facilities grants and statutory enforcement functions

• Proven ability to drive major capital programmes and strategic development
• Expertise in leading compliant, modern regulatory services
• Experience in building high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
• Skill in navigating complex legal and statutory frameworks
