The Council is seeking to employ a suitably experienced, driven and proactive Development Manager within the Council’s Homes and Neighbourhoods Service, to focus on supporting the Development Service Manager in delivering an ambitious £57 million improvement Programme relating to the Council’s High-Rise housing stock. The post will take the lead role in a project to demolish and redevelop two tower blocks for a new affordable housing scheme.

You will support the development of a culture of high challenge and performance within teams and promote continuous risk analysis and mitigation, learning and improvement, including carbon reduction measures in development. 

Using your excellent IT, analytical, literacy and numeracy skills and knowledge of Local Authority housing development you will support the operational delivery of the Council’s ambitious House Building Programme, demonstrating effective leadership and management skills. You will also be responsible for appraising and progressing new projects in line with the Councils Housing/Asset Strategy and agreed Service Plan, and preparing briefs and reports to senior leadership, Programme Board and Cabinet to clearly assess and present complex issues.

Working with the Development Service Manager and other Senior Managers within the Service, you will ensure that the overall objectives of the Team, Service and Organisation are achieved.
