Full Time

Having recently launched ambitious new Place and Climate strategies, Huntingdonshire DC is setting out a clear vision of how we want to see our district develop and thrive in the future, while protecting the natural assets that make us such a desirable place to live. The place agenda touches on every aspect of our work. We are always prepared to test our thinking: to question how we do things and stretch the boundaries of what’s possible.

This inquisitive and curious approach has informed and inspired our new Place Strategy. Working with our key partners we challenged ourselves to think beyond the norm and to be open to new possibilities. Joining our Chief Executive and Corporate Director, People on the Council’s leadership team, this is a key corporate role, with a remit that spans place, economy, skills, planning, climate and more. There is much to do: from regeneration and investment in our market towns, to building on the momentum of new homes in the area. At its core, this is a role about communities and what they need to thrive.

And it’s about partnerships: working with others to convene and accelerate key initiatives, tap into funding opportunities, and capitalise on shared opportunities.

We don’t have a highly prescriptive view of your professional background – the importance of working successfully across a wider corporate remit dictates that you will need to be versatile and adaptable. A creative mind, an engaging approach to partnerships and a positive outlook will all be key attributes. You’ll already be operating at a senior level and be able to demonstrate an informed strategic appreciation of infrastructure, planning, regeneration and economic development.
