We think Rossendale is a unique place; picturesque towns and villages built on two hundred years of industrial heritage, alongside fabulous green spaces.

We have a number of achievements of which we are rightly proud, not least our town centre improvement project, the redevelopment of the Whitaker Museum, and our first Green Flag.

We face a bright future and have ambitious plans to progress the City Valley Rail Link project and take major strides in our innovative work on carbon reduction.

We are now looking for a new Chief Executive to drive this agenda.

We have been leading a process of cultural change in the council focused around our values – pride, passion and people. In the new Chief Executive, we are looking for someone who can use these values to shape a high-performing council, unafraid to innovate and focused on delivery. We’re looking for someone who will act as a figurehead in driving improvement and who understands passionately the issues that are important to our residents.

You will bring a track record of delivering real solutions which have made an impact on the ground, along with the energy and desire to join a forward-thinking council.
