THE ROLE

This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-performing council at a pivotal moment. Following the retirement of John Sinnott, one of local government’s longest-serving and most respected Chief Executives, we are seeking a successor who can build on our strengths and bring fresh vision and energy to the organisation. Working closely with a new administration and with partners across the public, private, and voluntary sectors, you will provide stability, strategic leadership, and the ability to unite people behind a shared agenda.

We are looking for an inspiring leader with political acumen, creativity, and resilience, someone who is confident in managing complexity and change at scale, but equally comfortable being visible, accessible, and trusted by colleagues, members, and communities alike. You will guide Leicestershire through the next chapter of its journey, ensuring we continue to deliver excellent services, protect the most vulnerable, and seize the opportunities of growth and reform.
