Career Graded Planning Officer

To contribute to the Council’s vision by providing a comprehensive Development Control Service, in accordance with Service Development plans, performance targets, legislation and the Council’s service standards and policies.

For Level 1, 5 GCSE passes, including higher grades (C or above) in English and Mathematics and 2 A levels or equivalent qualifications or at least 2 years experience in a planning environment are required.

For Levels 2 and 3, qualifications which meet the educational requirements to become a Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute i.e. degree or equivalent are required.

We are looking for a positive and flexible person who has experience in a Local Government or other public organisation and an interest in and understanding of Planning Legislation and Development Control activities, someone who has the ability to analyse and resolve complex information and has excellent written and verbal communication skills with the motivation and time management skills to meet tight deadlines and can work equally in a team and on their own initiative.
