We are seeking to recruit dedicated and enthusiastic Business Engagement Officers to join SkillsHouse which has been upscaling rapidly since the Covid-19 recession which lead to a large proportion of job losses and unemployment.

SkillsHouse looks to address the skill gaps in the local labour market as well as to ultimately improve underlying employment and economic outcomes for Bradford residents and employers.  

SkillsHouse which was launched in 2016, is our local innovative public employment service partnership and gateway for supporting both business and jobseekers working to improve business and inclusive employment outcomes.   

It is responsible for building our local partnership offer to employers and jobseekers alike.  SkillsHouse provides structured and tailored employment pathways for our unemployed young people and adults that meet business’ recruitment and talent management needs.      

This role will be at the heart of partnership working leading on sector-specific initiatives with a focus on improving business and inclusive employment outcomes. 

The main purpose of the role will be to establish, grow, and facilitate sector-based, demand and outcome-driven, effective partnerships between employers and partners. 

To develop effective solutions for local employers to meet their hiring and workforce development needs and generate innovative pathways into employment and workforce development.    

You will be expected to demonstrate your ability to meet the special knowledge, experience, qualifications required for the role which will be used for shortlisting.

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
