UKREiiF: The UK’s leading infrastructure forum is back with a bang

Set to return to Leeds Dock in May, around 12,000 domestic and international attendees are due to take part in UKREiiF 2024.

The event, which was launched in 2022 and takes part over the course of three days, aims to unite individuals from across the UK in public and private sectors to discuss plans for housing, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, technology, healthcare, energy, retail, and infrastructure.

This year, the events key theme will be to look forward to ‘the next five years’ in a bid to unlock development in key areas such as social housing and green infrastructure while delving into challenges surrounding funding and planning resources.

All of the organisations who have registered to participate in the event this year will be represented alongside the UK government. This not only gives institutions the chance to voice what they think should change to make our world run smoother, but also ensures any investment opportunities are implemented. An example of this is Torbay council recently confirmed a £100m investment into a seaside destination, which is set to create new jobs and homes.

When the conference was launched two years ago the total number of people who attended was around 3,500 and this grew to 7,500 in 2023. However, this year the event is set to be bigger than ever before as it is due to attract 12,000 attendees to Leeds. From this statistic, around 1,500 delegates are coming from overseas, including a trade delegation from Asia headed up by the department for business and trade.

So far over 700 speakers have been confirmed for the event this year and they will be situated across 30 stages. Amongst those set to attend are The Rest is Politics stars Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart who will be giving talks.

Alastair Campbell, Former Director of Communications for No. 10 Downing Street, said: ‘UKREiiF brings together all the different parts of the equation that are needed to regenerate regions and the economy successfully. And it’s changing people’s views of the industry world.’

In addition, president of international investors, Amro Partners added: ‘UKREiiF tells me that the UK is open to business, and as an investor, that is a fantastic message. The event brings together Government ministers and officials, people from Whitehall, local authorities, investors, and developers – it’s a phenomenal representation of the real estate sector.’
