Stockport Homes to host webinar on tackling anti-social behaviour

The key is investing in decent technology, according to experts.

Due to take place next month (13th May) at 11am, the title of the webinar is: Tackling anti-social behaviour through technology – The Stockport Homes story.

Since 2022 Stockport Homes have worked closely with Ajar Technology, who are also delivering the webinar, to help battle problems of anti-social behaviour within communities. The housing organisation, which was formed in 2005 and currently acts as ‘Stockport’s largest landlord’, have installed cloud-based CCTV solutions which provide deployable surveillance on a long-term basis.

The cameras have been fitted in areas across Stockport including the town centre and a number of district locations such as Bramhall, Cheadle, Hazel Grove and Edgeley. Stockport Homes manage the cameras on behalf of the local authority.

News of the webinar couldn’t have come at a better time. The latest statistics show that while Greater Manchester police recorded a reduction in anti-social behaviour incidents over the past three years, Stockport has seen a light increase.

Alongside encouraging cameras to be fitted, crimes have also prompted the Safer Stockport Partnership.

Speakers involved in the webinar are:

  • Jordan Marshall, Chair of Assemble Media Group
  • Louise Crowder, Safer Neighbourhoods manager of Stockport Homes
  • Tara McLaughlin, Sales and Marketing Manager at Ajar Technology

The three women are set to discuss real-world examples of how anti-social behaviour was addressed via technology, the overarching benefits of centralised housing security and the lessons learned and advice for other housing associations facing similar issues, all within a 60 minute timeframe.

Tickets for the free event, which has been arranged via a partnership with Assemble Media Group, can be secured here.
