Hill wins £70m south London regeneration contract

Homebuilders Hill have been appointed to deliver the first homes of the Aylesbury Estate regeneration project in south London by Notting Hill Genesis.

The estate regeneration project is a long-term partnership between Notting Hill Genesis and the London borough of Southwark.

The £70m contract will see 229 new homes built on a parcel of land known as ‘package a’ at the junction of Bradenham Close and Westmoreland Road.

Of those, 84% will be available for social rent, including 54 extra care units and 7 homes for people with learning difficulties.

Part of the wider first development site, package a will contribute to more than 800 homes, a community facility and public open space It will also provide a wide range of job and training opportunities for Southwark residents, including 224 sustained jobs, 98 apprenticeships and 105 training places.

‘Having Hill on board to build our first homes in the Aylesbury neighbourhood is fantastic news,’ said Notting Hill Genesis’ group director of regeneration and assets, Jeremy Stibbe.

‘They are highly experienced in regeneration projects that benefit the wider community and the high standards they demand match the vision we have for the area.

‘This is a very challenging time for the housing sector and development has slowed in London and beyond, but we retain our commitment to producing the quality new homes so desperately needed in this area and are looking forward to starting construction in the very near future,’ added Mr Stibbe.
