Development group Fraser Partners have just announced their launch of a new eco-friendly show home in the South of Belfast.
As more people are looking to live in more sustainable properties, the new show room, situated in Mealough, has pledged to showcase some of the most innovative and environmentally friendly solutions currently available on the Northern Ireland market.
Designed from the inside out, the homes have been complete with inset solar panels, which have been integrated with the roof tiles to ensure electricity is generated sustainably during daylight hours.
Each home has also been fitted with a 5kWh battery energy storage unit, which facilitates the storage of free energy produced by the solar PV system. This means that homeowners can store electricity for discharge when they need it, even after the sun has set, providing a cheaper power source in winter months when solar energy is less abundant.
Additionally, if inflation continues at a high rate and energy bills soar like they did last winter, having extra energy saved will come in extremely useful.
Alongside saving money on electricity, the homes have also been constructed with a high level of insulation and increased air tightness to prevent heat loss, ensuring residents save money on their gas bill. Altogether, with the use of solar panels and battery storage units, homeowners are estimated to save up to £500 each year.
Each home also benefits from double-height glazing and large window openings, which are not only a spectacular design feature, but also maximise solar gain, flooding the home with an abundance of natural light.
Simon Brien, Managing Director at Simon Brien Residential, said: ‘We’re thrilled to be working with Fraser Partners to launch this innovative new show home at Mealough.
‘The attention to detail and commitment to sustainability in this development is truly remarkable – and we’re confident that it will be a huge hit with buyers across the region.’

‘We believe that this development sets a new standard for sustainable housing in Northern Ireland, and we’re excited to be leading the way in creating homes that are not just beautiful and comfortable, but also environmentally responsible.’
