Regeneration and Strategy
This exciting new role, based in the Business and Skills Service, will play a key role in the delivery of the Council’s Inclusive Economy Strategy and Vision 2024, co-ordinating a new and transformational programme of activity and investment in town and high street regeneration across the borough, improving the resilience and sustainability of our places and communities, enabling the economy to grow and helping our residents to live a larger life.
An exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced person has arisen within the Council’s Countryside Access Service for the position of Definitive Map Officer.
The 10,000 km of public rights of way in North Yorkshire make up the longest public rights of way network in the country, and they are a key element in the transport network, helping people to get to work and school, to enjoy the countryside and take exercise. The Definitive Map and Statement is the legal record of all these paths, and keeping it up to date is a crucial task.
Environmental Health Officers (EHO’s) in the Majors and Project Support Team, will be responsible under the direction of the SEHO for responding to planning applications, reviewing associated complex specialist reports (including Contaminated Land, Air Quality, Noise, Lighting), dealing with pre-application enquiries via the Planning Team, and attending relevant meetings with colleagues, developers where required.
Highway Services is part of the Place Department, under the responsibility of the Director of Environment and Operations. It provides Enfield with the operational capacity to manage the Council’s highway infrastructure and associated assets. The service is also responsible for the delivery of the Council’s Network Management Duty under the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the coordination of all highway activities under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991. The Council is a founder member of the London Permit Scheme and has a dedicated Street Works team to manage all of its statutory obligations.
Located in the West Midlands, Sandwell is a metropolitan borough in the Black Country, which is made up of six towns – Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Tipton, Wednesbury and West Bromwich. The borough is full of opportunity and investment potential having excellent access to the national motorway network with five junctions feeding in to the M5 and M6 motorways serving the South West, South East and North West regions of the UK.
This position is a fixed term contract for 18 months.
