The Housing Service is provided through a dynamic and proactive team working across both Wychavon and Malvern Hills districts.
The team covers a wide range of housing related work including; strategic housing, the enabling of new affordable housing, administration of the housing register, assistance with homelessness, Disabled Facility Grants and other discretionary assistance. We also review property standards, bring empty homes back into use, improve energy efficiency in domestic homes and work closely with social lettings agencies to improve access to private rented accommodation and more.

Our service includes the strategic housing role, housing development including community-led housing development, Disabled Facilities Grants and other discretionary housing assistance, property standards and enforcement, bringing empty homes back into use, improving thermal comfort of domestic homes, housing advice, administration of a common housing register, homeless prevention, relief and investigation, operation of a social housing lettings agency and dedicated resources focussed on financial inclusion and the needs of families, young people and rough sleepers.
An exciting temporary opportunity has opened for an innovative, creative thinker with excellent organisational skills to join our Housing Solutions Strategic support Team required until 31 March 2021. The role of Housing Project Officer will assist the Housing Team Leaders in the development and improvement of the Housing Solutions Service and with specific housing related projects.
We are looking for a highly-motivated team member with a passion for helping people and protecting the environment to join us in delivering the Councils responsibilities in Environmental Health.
You will be required to provide a technical contribution to a wide range of environmental health functions including but not limited to, air quality, environmental permitting, contaminated land, investigation of nuisance complaints arising from domestic, commercial and industrial premises and provide technical advice on planning applications.

The Housing Service brings together a variety of provisions within Housing Needs, Housing Management, Asset Management and Systems & Resources. The teams work together to successfully serve the community with their housing requirements. Following the rollout to Redbridge of ‘Universal Credit’ reform and implementation of the ‘Homelessness Reduction Act’, both of which present challenges for the Housing Service we are looking for someone who is passionate about joining the Housing team.
