Flood Risk Manager

Birmingham City Council’s Drainage and Flood Risk Management Team are responsible for undertaking key functions as Lead Local Flood Authority in a challenging urban environment. The consequence of flooding to residents and businesses has a significant impact of the lives of the affected citizens. Working closely with partner agencies, we seek to mitigate and reduce the potential for flooding within the City.

You will direct and manage our housing development and renewal programmes. Driving the agenda on the Council’s key priority, you will lead a team of professionals delivering the Council’s housing and regeneration schemes. You will work closely with Lewisham Homes and other delivery partners ensuring our objectives are fully realised on time and within budget.

As our lead expert on highways and transport, you will set the direction and lead on all transport related matters. Lewisham is working closely with the GLA, TfL and our rail partners to develop a transport network that is fit for the future. As well as ensuring appropriate policies are in place, you will be instrumental in significant projects such as moving the South Circular in Catford, the proposed Bakerloo line extension and London’s Healthy Streets agenda.
