One of those priorities is to ensure that we provide a clean, green, and sustainable environment. As part of delivering this priority, the Authority is currently developing a 10 year plan for waste. This will set our strategic direction for waste over the next decade, taking into account the Government’s new waste strategy “Our Waste, Our Resources: A Strategy for England”. Also, the plan needs to take into account delivery of the Elected Mayor’s policy commitment for the borough to be free from single use plastics and how our work on waste specifically supports how we tackle Climate Change
