The scheme at Upton Park, being built by Morris Homes, will form part of a wider 860 home development being overseen by Homes England.
Their homes are constructed in half the time it would normally take and they say their factory generates around 90% less on-site waste and 80% improvement in man-hour productivity.
The year-long pilot programme will begin with their first shop on St Mary’s Gate in central Manchester and will be followed by the opening of other pop-up shops in Wales, Scotland, the Midlands, Yorkshire and across the South East.
