Senior Conservation Officer

We are looking to recruit a qualified Senior Conservation Officer, ideally with full membership of the IHBC or working towards full membership, to provide support, guidance and advice to colleagues within the Planning Service and external stakeholders, including members of the public.

Assistant Property and Land Officer

An opportunity has arisen in the Leasehold and Procurement Section operating within the Council’s Housing and Regeneration Department for an Assistant Property & Land Officer. You will be part of a small, friendly, and highly efficient team. Your role will mainly be to assist the Senior Leasehold & Procurement Officer in administering a wide range of processes related to the ownership of property and land held by the Council as a housing authority and more specifically as a residential landlord. You will ensure the Council complies to statutory requirements when dealing with lease extension applications thus guaranteeing a regular income into the Housing Revenue Account.

Skilled Highways Operative

You will carry out highways repairs and maintenance tasks including modular and block paving, laying insitu concrete and associated steel reinforcement, associated iron work (i.e., manholes, gully’s, valve cases), laying kerb and channels, installing and repairing of all types of drainage pipes and systems and operate mechanical jetting plant, fitting formwork and shoring-up equipment, fitting metal concrete bollards and excavation work.

We are looking for a person who is passionate about Walsall‘s diverse communities and equally as passionate about the benefits of integration. The role will be part of the Walsall For All programme which is part of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Integrated Area Programme.

Having a proven track record of delivering an effective administration functions working across a range of stakeholders, from elected members, senior management, voluntary and community sectors, faith sector organisations, to volunteers the person will work in a coordinated way which ensure effective data and evidence capture to meet stringent monitoring requirements of HCLG.

A detailed understanding of social media and developing platforms that reach targeted audiences with key messages working across a range of stakeholders, from elected members, senior management, voluntary and community sectors, faith sector organisations, to volunteers, the person will lead by example in a coordinated way, which ensure this key government initiative is delivered and communicated positively.
