Senior Enforcement Officer (Housing)

Coventry, the UK City of Culture for 2021 is a rapidly expanding place with a buoyant and growing private rented sector. Keeping residents safe and tackling poor housing conditions is a key strategic priority for the Council. The Government has recently extended licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) and the Council has big plans for introducing discretionary licensing in the city. We are therefore adapting in order to respond to the need to licence more properties, and in targeting and tackling the poorest housing conditions operated by criminal landlords. As a result, we are expanding our Housing Enforcement and Property Licensing Team.

Rents Team Co-ordinator

Sandwell Council is investing in its Income Management Service, creating a highly efficient and professional service and placing itself in a strong position to meet the challenges and demands of maximising income collection at every opportunity.

The Service is responsible for managing, monitoring and recovering arrears of rent and other housing related charges from current and former tenants. A key objective is to combine the effective recovery of arrears with the provision of high quality advice, assistance and support to those in need.  You will be expected to contribute to the provision of a high quality, customer focused service and to contribute to the development of the service in terms of income collection, performance management, staff development and providing debt, welfare benefits and associated advice.

Lightwoods House and Park have undergone a large-scale renovation project assisted by HLF funding.

The Park provides a green space for the local community to use and enjoy. The House is a community facility with community rooms, a tea room, rented office space, as well a function room and meeting rooms to hire. There is also an adjoining, privately-run Nursery.
