Economic Resilience Manager – Housing Development

Following the recent adoption of the , this is an exciting and challenging time for Kirklees to deliver our ambitious plans for Housing development and regeneration. Kirklees has recently launched an ambitious housing development programme to build 10,000 homes by 2023 of which at least 1,000 will be on council-owned land. We are responsible for delivering the district’s ambitious Housing Growth plan working with key partners, services, developers and funders to unlock sites and build the required number of new homes in the district over the next 5 years.

Estates Surveyor

A vacancy has arisen for an Estates Surveyor in our new Estates Services team.

Working alongside the Estates Manager and an Administrator, your key responsibilities will include assisting with the development, maintenance and delivery of the Estates function for our current and future commercial portfolio.

Ideally you will be a building professional who has worked in a commercial field and understands the reviewing of leases and rents and able to build relationships with diverse professionals who support the Council in the management of its buildings.

It is also known as a City of Peace and Reconciliation that offers a safe place for Asylum seekers and has been one of the first to offer a place of safety and welcome to Syrian Refugees since 2014. The City is committed to resettling 125 refugees a year until 2020 through the Vulnerable People’s Resettlement Scheme as well as the Resettling Vulnerable Children Scheme (Middle-East and North African regions).

Accommodation Lead

There is an exiting opportunity in a new, innovative service within the diverse county of Northumberland. We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Accommodation Lead. You will need to ensure that all accommodation needs are met for the most vulnerable groups of young people. We welcome creative thinkers, who will be able to develop a service and work with multiple agencies both within Northumberland County Council and with partnership organisations.

Our new director will have a wide-ranging remit including leading on and delivering the change programme which will involve organisational development to build on our strengths whilst increasing our agility and pace. Responsibility will extend to the digital agenda plus a range of diverse services including finance, legal, HR, ICT and communications. There will also be a focus on the commercial aims of the council which will include both property and Integra – the council’s trading arm. You will also play a key part in our role as a partner within the Combined Authority.
