Strategic Director

Mansfield District Council is undertaking an ambitious transformation programme to achieve our vision of becoming a 21st century council. We are looking for an experienced and talented leader who shares our commitment to improvement and putting residents at the heart of what we do.

If you are looking for a new challenge where you can effectively contribute to the overall leadership of the authority then join us on our journey to become a high performing, proactive and innovative council.

Operational Director – Regeneration, Growth & Employment

We believe that, although it’s often cited, this role really is a unique opportunity. Take a look at Brent and you will find it easy to see why. As one of London’s most diverse boroughs, we are proud to be the 2020 London Borough of Culture, the host for the men’s European Championships in 2020, and the women’s European Championships in 2021.

We are determined to keep improving and to build on our successes and plan to build nearly 3,000 new homes per year. Our ambitious regeneration plans and housing zones are moving at pace and our town centres are changing with more to strive for and deliver. If this was not enough, we have a high performing adult education in Brent Start that is rated as good, you will help ensure it achieves an outstanding rating.

Director of Highways and Transport

We are looking for a passionate and energetic leader to deliver a range of ambitious and major projects across our economic development, highways and transport services. As a strategic link between Manchester and Liverpool City Regions we’ll require a collaborative approach to build our regional infrastructure including building out major development sites and ambitious new road building programmes.

Director of Growth, Environment & Planning

Our new Director will help us to develop a strong corporate vision, strategy and robust operations to service a whole range of regional opportunities to promote, regenerate, enhance and sustain economic development and jobs growth across Lancashire. We are seeking a dynamic leader who has significant experience of leading all aspects of growth, environment and investment. You’ll be a member of the Directorate Management Team and as a consequence be contributing and influencing at the highest levels requiring a high level of strategic input and corporate working in a fast-paced setting.

Head of Highways and Network Operation

2018 was a remarkable year for Blackburn with Darwen Council, we celebrated 20 years since becoming a unitary authority and we were delighted to win the Municipal Journal Local Authority of the Year, the third such accolade in the past 20 years.

As we reflect proudly on our successes, we will not be complacent about our future. We have more to do as a Council, and with partners, to deliver even better outcomes for our residents.
