Premises & Facilities Officer

With a diverse property portfolio comprising of a range of building types and uses, Torridge District Council is responsible for the management of a variety of premises across the District.  From beach huts to business centres, the locations of the buildings are as varied as the people that use them.  Whether  the premises represents part of the services provided for the public or form part of the wider income generating estate their operational use and efficiency is equally important.

Term Contract Officer

Torridge District Council achieve necessary compliance and delivery of essential services through strong working relationships with a number of quality term contract providers.  These range from the complete out-sourcing of some services, through day-to-day reactive works to the occasional call off of repairs across the District.

We are currently looking for an experienced contracts officer to join our Property Team in the effective supervision, management and administration of our existing term contracts.  Reporting to the Property Manager, the post holder will be required to work on their own initiative in the day-to-day operation and supervision of the term contractors including:

Executive Director (Head of Paid Service)

As Executive Director you will be our Head of Paid Service and work closely with your peer Executive Director as well as the Council Leader and Cabinet to deliver the Council’s vision, objectives and priorities to support a flourishing local economy and community.

Director of Environment & Neighbourhood Services

Following the retirement of the previous postholder we seek a Director of Environment and Neighbourhood Services.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead and shape a range of services including Housing, Transport and Public Protection Services; Revenues and Benefit Services; Infrastructure and Facilities and Streetscene Services.

As part of the Council’s corporate management team you will also provide strategic leadership to deliver the Council’s ambitions and priorities in collaboration with partners and play a leading role in delivering the Council’s extensive capital programme.
