Refuse Operatives (Casual)

There is an opportunity to work within the waste management section of the Neighbourhood Services Department on a casual basis.

The main duties for this post will be carrying out programmed/scheduled works, which will include

• Collection, removal and disposal of domestic waste,
• Collection, removal and disposal of trade waste
• Collection, removal and disposal of recycling from various locations.

Capital Projects Manager

The Capital Projects Office, part of the Economic Growth Department, is responsible for strategic construction projects within the Council and other non-strategic projects assigned to it by the Council’s Capital Programme Review Board.

The team is also responsible for the development of the Council’s capital project management system.

The Project Manager plays an essential role in the team, and is important to its continued success.

Waste Services Support Assistant

You will be based in the Waste Services Department which is responsible for the collection of all household wheelie bins in East Lindsey.

The main duties and responsibilities you will be required to undertake are:

  • maintain and upkeep all records/systems accurately and efficiently both manually and computerised;
  • maintain an effective communications link with the workforce, clients, staff and members of the public including elected members and Town/Parish Councils etc;
  • update enquiries and complaints on the computerised system within determined deadlines;
  • raise invoices in the AX system and follow up for payment;

Roads and Environmental Services Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen to shape and deliver the Roads and Environmental Services function across Orkney. The post covers a wide range duties and responsibilities including those of the Roads Authority, network management and road safety, the development of the Roads Asset Management Plan (RMMP) and an operational workforce of approximately 60 staff delivering all aspects of the roads maintenance service including delivery of the Winter and Emergency Response Service. In addition you will also be responsible for a workforce of approximately 40 staff delivering operational waste and environmental services ranging from domestic waste and recycling services, commercial collections and environmental cleaning and the maintenance of burial grounds.
