Senior Planning Officer

An opportunity has arisen in the Council’s Development and Enforcement Team for a Senior Planning Officer.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified planner who will help support the delivery of a high quality, effective, efficient and customer focussed service in a systems thinking manner. The role will involve managing a case load of complex and contentious applications, including major applications and enforcement related cases.

Income Officer

The Income Management Service Area is responsible for managing, monitoring and recovering arrears of rent and other charges from current and former tenants. The service area aims to maximise the Council’s rental income stream by combining the effective recovery of arrears with comprehensive advice, assistance and support to those in need.

You will be expected to demonstrate:

Director – Homes and Communities

You’ll work closely with the Executive Director: Neighbourhoods, so you may find it helpful to read the outline of this role (see link below). In addition, you’ll develop and co-ordinate the work of Town Lead Members, taking responsibility for town management and service delivery at a town and neighbourhood level; and will take direct management responsibility for Sandwell’s investment in its housing stock, including maintenance.

Prevention Support Officer

We are currently looking for a Prevention Suport Officer to assist in the delivery of a comprehensive housing support service to enable customers to sustain a tenancy by providing proactive early help, practical advice, information and support on a wide range of housing issues. You will also be required to contribute to the provision of a high quality, customer focused Income Management Service.
